A modular spatial system for Denmark’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2025
Client: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark

Taking an existing visual identity as its starting point, the project transformed a two-dimensional logo into a flexible three-dimensional design system. The cube was already embedded in the logo’s geometry, making it possible to create a distinctive spatial identity rather than another generic backdrop.

Designed to flat-pack, ship and reassemble, the modular cube system could scale from 15 cm tabletop objects to large installations, creating a consistent visual language for conferences, exhibitions and Danish representations across Europe.

The concept was also extended to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where a detachable graphic layer based on the Presidency identity was designed to integrate with an existing exhibition, demonstrating how the visual language could adapt to different contexts without requiring entirely new structures.

The same principles was used at the new exhibition Defending Democracy, developed for Danish representations during the Presidency. A removable Presidency logo allowed the exhibition to remain relevant beyond the six-month Presidency, while an accompanying idea catalogue provided a framework for adapting it to different venues and formats.
