The new cable car, Mi Teleferico, in La Paz has done a really good job on designing the stations and the rest of their b-to-c communication in a very pedagogic way. The pictograms might have problems with thick/thin stokes, but they are made in a funny, naive and understandable way though. I like that the “tiwanakua” (pre inks inhabitants) painting style is used to remind us where we are, e.g. in the logo. As well are some of the old names used and spelled in aymara. I just wish there had been done a little more work on the typography. It’s too generic.
And yes, these picture are from the YELLOW line. But replace the yellow in the photos with red or green and you’ll have an idea what the other two lines look like.
The tradition i Bolivia, cholitas fighting each other, is quite odd, I think. But I wish I had had the courage to get close to these women, like Luis Cobelo did. See the whole series here.
